1. Agreement
By renting a vehicle from CarKey Car Rental, you agree to these terms and conditions. The rental agreement begins when we confirm your booking in writing (WhatsApp confirmation is valid) and ends when the vehicle is returned and inspected.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license. International visitors must present a valid passport and international driving permit if applicable. We reserve the right to refuse service.
3. Booking & Confirmation
All bookings are made via WhatsApp or phone. A booking is confirmed only when we send a written confirmation with the agreed dates, vehicle, and total price. A deposit may be required for certain vehicles or durations.
4. Payment
Payment is due at the start of the rental period unless otherwise agreed. We accept cash (USD or IQD). The full rental amount must be paid before the vehicle is handed over.
5. Vehicle Condition
All vehicles are cleaned and inspected before each rental. You must report any pre-existing damage before departure. You are responsible for the vehicle during the rental period.
6. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are provided with a reasonable amount of fuel. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level. If the fuel level is significantly lower, a refueling fee will apply.
7. Mileage
Unless otherwise agreed, rentals include unlimited mileage within the Kurdistan Region. Travel outside the agreed area requires prior written approval.
8. Insurance & Liability
Basic insurance is included. The renter is responsible for any damage not covered by insurance, including but not limited to: tire damage, undercarriage damage, interior damage, and damage caused by negligence or violation of these terms.
9. Prohibited Use
The vehicle must not be used for: illegal activities, racing, towing, off-road driving (unless the vehicle is rated for it), or any purpose that violates local laws. Smoking in the vehicle is prohibited.
10. Traffic Violations
The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets, and violations incurred during the rental period. CarKey will forward any fines received to the registered renter.
11. Accidents
In case of an accident: 1) Ensure safety first, 2) Contact CarKey immediately, 3) Take photos and video of the scene, 4) Do not admit liability on behalf of CarKey, 5) File a police report if required. Failure to report an accident may result in full liability for damages.
12. Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Erbil.
